Comments Thread For: Team Gradovich Certainly Up For Future Donaire Bout

Egis Klimas, manager and trainer of International Boxing Federation featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich (17-0, 8KOs), says his boxer is certainly up for a future bout with Nonito Donaire (31-2, 20KOs).

In a recent international interview, Donaire's manager Cameron Dunkin said he hoped to reach an agreement for his boxer to face Gradovich in early 2014.

The two fighters have other fights to worry about first. Gradovich has a contracted rematch with Billy Dib that has to be worked out, and Donaire faces Vic Darchinyan in a rematch on November 9. [Click Here To Read More]

Donaire is a joke, first Darchinyan at 126 and then Gradovich. Hbo and arum are so ****ing ******. They talk about Donaire being one of the best fighters in he world and Rigo takes him to school and he's a boring fighter. They should be putting Vic in with Rigo, not Donaire. If they want Rigo to look good put him in with someone like Vic, wv2, or Montiel.

The hype surrounding Donaire should end soon. He's no going to be fighting midgets anymore and his power won't be enough against guy that are bigger than him.

I agree Vic should be fighting Rigo. Donaire will beat Vic again, but I think Gradovich would beat Donaire. IMO.

This isn't a bad fight. I'm more concerned about who he fights after Gradovich. Gradovich is a title holder so somebody's got to take it.

After that he has Chris John possibly and the winner of Salido/Cruz. Down the line Donaire might be used to build Lomachenko's name up too.

I wish they would target John heavily and bring that title out of Indonesia . But I never really cared about donaire but I got to say his handlers are doing a great job with his career. Gets schooled by a fighter who "hadnt faced anyone and only had 11 fights" then he gets a title shot lined up in a weight clad hes never fought in and all he has to do is fight a guy he's already destroyed.

it's pretty much how it goes...it was a little worse with mares...he fought a 118lber for the vacant super bantamweight belt at a catchweight of 120lbs...and then he defended his newly gifted wbc super bantamweight belt against another 118lber...and THEN his next fight was at 126 where he fought ponce for the wbc belt....

only difference is that mares gets called a warrior and gets all this praise and donaire gets ****ted on non stop...
