    Interesting stuff:

    - Nathan was really the most powerful of those who had to fight?
    - No. The most difficult opponent - Darnell Boone, he gave me a lot of problems. In the second fight at all torn ear, thank God, it has healed. As he, for me no one has ever got. But Cleverly beats I felt were touching, but they shake me could not. Nathan still well done, do not give back, not shirked. So he's not the guy fingers do. There are, however, Beibut Shumenov, who really no one to boxing and surprisingly, it has not deprived the belt world champion WBA. Apparently Boxing Association from him well fed.
    - One day after a fight with Grover Young, by the way, the only draw match in your career, you call your opponent "thoroughbred *****." Why?
    - We had a fight with him by accident. I was getting ready for a fight with another guy went to the weigh and Egis said that the enemy is "broke", however, have a replacement, but it is harder to 9 Pound (4.5 kilograms), so you can have lunch. When we got on the scales, Young heavier than 6 pounds, but I was not confused. Then we were holding each opponent, the promoter for us was not. So the next day battle - at a party Play Boy. Among the spectators' misski "of different years, naked girls in body paint instead of swimsuits. In the first round Grover tried to do something else, but I quickly picked up the keys to it. In the second, he got tired and decided to get away with it, pretending that I hit him hard on the head. Young referee seduced. A Young - he's an actor, he fell to the floor, demanded a stretcher. The rules also have a point that if the fight lasts less than four rounds and stops due to injury, the judge set off a technical draw. I later met Yang in the hotel - a happy, telling jokes to his coach. I asked him, "Why are not you in intensive care, after all, judging by your antics, you're on the verge of death?" He started screaming something about a rematch, and I asked him not to put off, go for a hotel room and get him there . "No, no, no, it's illegal," - he said. I was sad that this "sunburnt" easy money earned. Egis paid him 4,000 dollars, but it turns out nothing.

Grover - the main villain, whom you met in the ring?

      - Well ... Just as rascal he behaved unsportsmanlike. In general, for some reason among African Americans across inadequate guys. If they have to sparring something does not work, then you can with an elbow strike. In one case, the "white" beat "black". So he drew his gun after a workout and started waving it in the face of the enemy, threatening to shoot him. This abnormal behavior. I'm not racist, I understand that everywhere there are good and bad guys, but the "tanned" every day I like less and less. I live in Florida, there are many illegal immigrants, the islanders, I can see how they behave.

Whoops, I was skimming through the questions of everything. I got that part because it said thorough bred in the title and the other part because it talked about his most difficult opponent.
I didn't even read that part.
I got the Grover Young part because that was his only fight that ended in a draw and I saw it on youtube and though wtf was that?

I dunno, the ref walked past the camera at the crucial moment. It looked to me like Kovalev hit him on the side of the head and hurt him. Grover used it as an excuse to get out of the fight, the rascal :-)

Yeah, started a thread on ESB 'bout that. Young was actually advancing on Kovalev, hard to see how he get's hit on the back of the head. It's a shame there's no other footage, but watch Young closely after he goes down - reflexively he reaches up to the side of his head at first, then as the ref comes over for a look reaches up to the back of his head.

Kovalev himself makes a gesture like 'what the hell' then mutters something to himself as turns away and goes into the corner.

Worth reflecting that without the Young TD (which woulda been a NC under the unified rules) Kovalev would now be the champion with the highest current KO percentage at either 22(20)-0-0 (90.9%) or 23(21)-0-0 (91.3) (if Young had been adjudged a legal KD).

Not surprised Kovalevs pissed off at Young, and although I don't condone racism, he specifies that there's good and bad people of every race, which is good enough for me.

I get the feeling there's some sour g****s from Sanchez - possibly 'cos Kovalev's career has suddenly taken off (since leaving Sanchez) enough to rival Genas. On the Kovalboxer website Kovalev basically says he didn't get on with Sanchez' style - I think Kov likes his own space (in fact he basically admits he's not the easiest guy to get along with) and Sanchez was a bit too hands on.

I think what we're looking at is Kovalev electing to box more defensively vs GGG, being aware of him as a dangerous guy - it's really quite petty of Sanchez to say he was scared or something, not least 'cos I'm sure GGG himself wouldn't say the same.

That said, I do agree with Abels assessment of GGG as a very cerebral fighter, and that this is one of the factors which make Golovkin really stand out - the real key, in fact, to his ability, is his ring IQ more than his power IMO.

Wait, Weebler, I'm not sure what's going on in that interview. Is Kovalev saying that Grover Young put a gun in his face after sparring?

Thanks Plutonium for knowing the truth, too! A lot of people are full of it but I stated the facts. The fact remains, GGG knocked Kovalev down in sparring TWICE. Once, Kovalev couldn't get up for 10 minutes. Don't believe me, ask Gena. In response to a few others, I doubt that Abel cares that he don't train Kovalev anymore as he has GGG. Trust me, GGG is a much better person outside the ring then Kovalev and inside of the ring.

Wouldn't find it hard to believe, Kovalevs statements even if in Russian are still clear enough in translation to see a ****** way of thinking, and I don't have any doubt that GGG knocked him down or hurt him.

I still like Kovalev anyway, but he'll never have that kinda personality like GGG that attracts people.
