Comments Thread For: Sprott's Career Near The End After Teper TKO Loss

British heavyweight veteran Michael Sprott, now 37-21, was recently sparring with Tyson Fury and then accepted a fight in Basel, Switzerland, against German based Turk Erkan Teper, 11-0, a good puncher but not very special at all. After an uneventful start - Teper caught Sprott with a good right that floored him. Michael got up and was allowed to continue but was caught again and went down. As he got up the referee stopped it. The time was 2.47.

Another Fury sparring partner, Arnold Gjergjaj, 22-0, was to have fought German Markus Tomala, 9-2, in what would have been an interesting test for Gjergjaj but Arnold was forced to pull out due to injury. [Click Here To Read More]

37-21 and he still has a career? His career was over the moment he got that tenth loss..adding 11 more is just insane...but not the worst we've seen. Didn't you guys post the result of a fight of a guy who was like 7 - 104 or some shhh. Boxing needs to have a foundation so guys who just don't have it in them to even be B-Level fighters have something to help them transition to normal life. Many of these guys are hired punching bags which is no way for a man to earn a living..how much money can these guys possibly earn with such horrible records? At least with football/baseball/basketball there is some educational institution involved so these guys can have careers of some sort if it doesn't work out but boxers...what can a guy do for a living if all he's done for 10/15 years is fight? Outside of security/bouncer work (for heavyweights obviously) I don't see what they can actually go do to earn money.
