I don't care much for the Dolphins but have been to a few games and only because my neighbor is a season ticket holder and invites me. There is a transient population down here. If you have ever attended a Marlins, Dolphins or even Heat game you can agree that sometimes the crowd will be 50/50 for their opposition, especially when it is a New York team.
There is a very diverse crowd in South Florida I agree, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's 50/50 divide in fans. Maybe you perceive it that way but does not make it fact.
Either way boxing is a whole different market, not fair to compare it to the pro sports you mentioned.

    • I don't think that is a different market. It's sports and sports will sell as long as you entertain the seller. I met Rigondeaux at an event down here, absolute humble and great person but he does have to entertain to sell. Hopefully, the promoters do put a great card down here in Miami and put South Florida on the map as a viable boxing market.

Beg to differ. It is different in many ways. I've been to plenty Marlins, Heat, UM and boxing cards.
It's not the same audience with the aforementioned first three than it is with boxing events.
Boxing events usually start late and go on past midnight and are hosted on weekends primarily in not so friendly joints.

        • You do have a good point that boxing events take places in locales that are not fan friendly. I don't think you can throw in college events because that definitely isn't the audience that boxing is going to attract. When I went to FAU, I tried to go to as many free football games as possible. As I stated, I would like to just see a great card down here for once and not feel that I was cheated out of my money.

Its pretty close to 50/50 when the Knicks play the Heat.

NY fan in every corner yes, resilient bunch but not half by any means.

Sounds of pots and pans drive em back out to the depressive temperate zone.
