Did Floyd Mayweather get tired at the end of Rd. 5 Vs Miguel Cotto?

Mayweather was definitely feeling the effect of the punches landed on his arms. It makes them heavy and harder to be fluid when throwing shots. Aside from that, Cotto showed more than just heart. He showed that he has underrated skill (on boxingscene) and savvy. At times it looked like Mayweather was confused as to what to do and couldnt quite adapt to a snappy jab, which he ate often. If he would've stayed off the ropes, he wouldnt of absorbed as much damage as he did but I think part of the game plan was to lure Cotto in and make him succumb to counters all night. Mayweather displayed that he isnt flawless but he has superior stamina and skill than almost any boxer. If Canelo comes in with paced aggressiveness, places shots all over Floyd's arms and upper chest area, good combinations, a solid (not constant) jab and a boatload of stamina, he can make this a very interesting fight.Comment

Floyd adjusted and did what he had to do in that fight. He will be a sharper Floyd not waiting to fight a whole year. The jab is the key to disrupt Floyd and Cotto has a very good one that is off beatComment

You're right about the off beat jab Cotto was throwing. Mayweather even gave him a nod at one point when Cotto threw it. He does well against boxers that fight in a rhythm like Ortiz... It was almost like he knew every time Ortiz was getting ready to throw and met him with a straight right.Comment

Floyd was discouraged, simple as that. He remarked that he had to dig deep in that fight because of Cotto's toughness. That's what he was referring to. Tired/discouraged can look similar or the same on a fighter.Comment

he was fairly lazy with his punches, first i thought it was just him trying to slow thing sdown to have a better look at things(since he got hit by a good combo early by cotto) but it seemed even the rights at the end of the round despite looking like he was trying to put power into them came out fairly slow, and innacurate
that same fatigue is probabley what got him caught by the left hook in the sixth
floyd having the history of coming at you whenever you hurt him, made mental midget cotto fold and run and kill his stamina, gave floyd time to rest, re-coup and beat his ass in the later roundsComment

His forays at Doble Seis probably forever hindered his true potential.Comment

Is not really impressive when you were supposed to win easily. This fight actually resurrected Cotto's career.Comment
