  • Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez: I Don't See Canelo Beating Floyd

Four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez is still siding with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) to defeat WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Marquez faced Mayweather in September of 2009 and lost a very one-sided decision. There have been many upsets in 2013. Marquez, as a Mexican, hopes Canelo is able to win but doesn't believe an upset is going to happen.

But I agree with him, not for the reasons he stated, but because Alvarez will be drained.

I believe Canelo is going to try and power box with Floyd. He fancies himself a stylist. He thinks he's Pernell Whitaker. Watch in a few weeks lol.

JMM should worry about Bradley because he's going to get out boxed. JMM jelly of canelo.

I agree he needs to worry. He'll get outmaneuvered, not outboxed though IMO. Bradley isn't even in the same stratosphere as Marquez when it comes to boxing skill. My visual aid:
