How would you measure Danny Swift's power with Maidana?

I think they both have about the same punching power. I feel like Maidana pushes for the KO, but Danny Garcia sets up his power shots a lot better with patience and that ultimately gives him the KO. Maidana couldn't knock out Khan or Morales which are two mutual opponents of Garcia and Maidana. I feel like Maidana failed to do that because he lacked a lot of defense and was forced to respect the power of both guys when he fought them during rounds. Garcia got hit too but he managed to negate the punches power by using a perry and slight movement. Garcia gets hit but he never gets hit with a clean shot he always finds a way to take some affect away from the punch he gets hit with. I've only seen him slightly hurt in the Judah fight.

I think Maidana hits as hard as Garcia with his left and harder than Garcia with his right. While Garcia did KO Morales and Khan and Maidana did not KO them I think Maidana faced a much better version of both men than Garcia did. Maidana throws more bombs per round than Garcia and I would pick him to KO Garcia if they fought. If Garcia beats Matthysse I would change my mind but for now I like Maidana to win and rate him a better overall puncher than Garcia.

I think Garcia's hardest punch is harder than Maidana's hardest punch, however I think Maidana average punch is heavier.

Maidana is more heavy handed, his record shows that as well. Maidana is one tough SOB. There's not that many boxer that go down, get backup and give you even more hell than before and win by KO.

I'm not sold on Danny's power just yet. Knocking out Khan doesn't tell us much other than he was able to land the GARSH (because everyone hurts Khan) and his ko of Morales while impressive looking doesn't tell us much due to Erik's age and wear over the years (and it took two outings to make it happen.) He couldn't crack Zabs china chin and looked unimpressive in trying. Maidana hits like a mule but lacks the skills to set his shots up without taking a great deal of punishment in the process. Danny has far better overall skills out of the two.

danny's most prolific knockouts come with left hooks that opponents don't see. maidana can hurt a guy at the very end of his punch, winding way the hell up to generate the power.


danny's a more effective puncher. you cannot compare their god given power.
