    Whats wrong with Mike Tyson?

IS Mike Serious with his choices of future boxing prospects in Iron Mike Promotions?
Don't get me wrong, I love Mike and respect his accomplishments but his choice of prospects simply sucks!
He actually signed Joan Guzman (Cmon!..how many chances should a MAN get?)
He got no Philly fighters, he got no fighters from his own backyard of BROOKLYN(shocking), NO Puerto Rican fighters, 1 Mexican and 1 Cuban (WTF!) He signed a bunch of Dominicans and as we all know Boxing is not baseball...My only guess is the acquisitions to sign are cheaper and easier his route.

    Anyone?

Given the fact that he's been in financial ruin for quite some time, I don't think Tyson has the financial backing to sign better fighters right now. He's likely going with the "quantity over quality" approach right now.

He's just trying to get a dollar. Nothing wrong with that. The only problem is, you need money to make money if you wanna be a promoter.

I guess "quantity over quality" makes some sense. Most of the promoters with good money have claimed the good areas and fighters.

The money isn't going from Tyson, it's from a guy who's name escapes me at the moment. It's a partnership with Tyson as the figurehead. But all the money and surely all the business aspects are from the other guys promotional company.

Before it was "Iron Mike Productions," it was "Acquinity Sports," whose CEO is a guy named Garry Jonas. And you're right, Tyson was brought on solely as the face of the company. I doubt he has much say in anything, except maybe to offer his opinion on specific matters. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement, if you ask me.

Yes, Acquinity Sports thanks my man.

I wonder if Jonas was shaking his head when Tyson started talking about his alcohol problem or if he liked the national media attention it got. Maybe that was the plan who knows.
