I agree with you about the ring IQ and computer like boxing but you can't say he's the greatest when his career isn't even over. For one I don't think he can't be beaten. Inside the ring everyone can lose. Losing to Canelo would be serious set back but wouldn't hurt his HOF status. Racking up a series of KO defeats by every bum off the street like Roy Jones wouldn't be good either.
Floyd Mayweather may well be the best fighter to ever lace up a pair of gloves

I would normally take the opportunity to make fun of this thread, but Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a hell of a fighter, and it's a damn shame most the up and coming fighters these days don't take a lesson from his work ethic outside the ring.
Once he and Pac and Marquez and Hopkins are gone, what are we left with as far as truly great fighters? Maybe Ward? Rigondeaux? Maybe Golovkin if he lives up to the hype?
Kind of sucks knowing that, as much as I wish Floyd and Pac would GTFO so the sport could move on from them.Comment

His mental aspect is unmatched, whatever mistake he makes once he does not make again. The man is like a computer in the ring he calculates everything and whatever you think you are having success with he takes away. Add in to that he is down right tough, when you actually hit him he is disgusted with himself and wants to punish you, there is no fighter alive that can defeat him,NONE!!!.Floyd is the best and even at 36 is to fast,to crafty and to smart. He works harder then any fighter and on top of that he studies you,he knows your style better then you know your own style.Sure this thread will get a lot of criticism and haterit but who cares? You can not beat this man....HE IS BOXING AND DEFINES EVERYTHING IT STANDS FORComment

You know, one can judge based on what a fighter possesses, Floyd has way too many dimensions, what can't he do in the ring? So I stand by that, in terms of skills, ring IQ, mental strength, work ethics, he's arguably the best to lace them up. Not saying he is but it's arguable, very few have that complete of an arsenal, very few.Comment
