    Question concerning Mayweather

According to some folks, the Mayweather v.Guerrro fight failed on ppv sales. What happens with the Showtime deal if he loses against Canelo? That would be a big setback to his billion dollar 6 fight deal. Back to back fails would be catastrophic I would imagine.

He is still bound by contract, besides I am sure there would be a rematch clause to cover any "what if's."

Why if canelo does permanent damage and makes him talk like Bowe or Holyfield?

Nah. Mayweather loses by any chance that causes a big shock wave in the world. Everyone will hear, Canelo becomes huge.

A rematch will be even bigger in terms of prestige and sales. So Showtime will come out on top. Mayweather wins rematch, still a win-win. Canelo already a big star who became bigger [if he beat Floyd]. So Showtime laughing all the way to the bank.

No fail at all IMO. Win or lose.

          Makes a lot of sense.

I don't think Mayweather was meant to be the savior of Showtime. He's supposed to be the kick off. I think Showtime is thinking long term. Gaining exposure with Mayweather. Even if Mayweather loses, he is a big enough name to draw in attention to Showtime boxing. And losing to Canelo, who is a huge name himself, would help Showtime in the long term. Showtime's real profit will probably come after Mayweather.

i think floyd is getting 40 million this time instead of 32. and canelo is gonna be making way more than guerrero. so showtime obviously needs this ppv to be huge. but in the end it hurts us more than floyd. if showtime loses money that means less money for other fights.
