Adviser Sampson Lewkowicz has advised BoxingScene.com that super featherweight contender Javier Fortuna (22-0-1, 16KOs) is still very eager to get in the ring with Olympic gold medal winner Yuriorkis Gamboa (23-0, 16KOs). Earlier this month, Fortuna suffered a draw in his ten round fight against 2004 Cuban Olympian Luis Franco at the Buffalo Run Casino in Oklahoma.
Gamboa is looking to start a new chapter in his career - by fighting on a regular basis in Mexico. The Cuban boxer met with promoter Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing and the two of them plan to work together.
