You'd be surprised at how many fighters get title shots right after losing to another fighter who deserves the shot more. Rancid Bartholamule really lost to Usmanee and almost got the shot at Argenis Mendez.....luckily Mendez didn't allow that and gave the shot to Usmanee.Last edited by richardt; 08-28-2013, 03:58 PM.Comment

I've seen guys get title fights after loosing but we are talking about a sanctioning body ordering a title fight. That's something totally different.Comment

I think Juan is too proud to be leaned on like this , he will throw the WBO belt in the garbage can .
Manny needs to earn the fight and beating a LW bum of loses don't cut it in my book .
Id laugh my head off if Juan wins and Floyd wins and they rematch and Manny stays in B grade looking for Abril LOL .Comment

Segundo Mercado who was trashed by Bernard Hopkins and then Joseph Kinwunuku and got two title shots right afterward, one was mandatory. There are others. But this is still su****ious as hell and it is not a good look on the sanctioning body at all.Comment

Funny how they couldn't order a Pacquaio vs Mayweather fight but will make us endure this saga a fifth time.....Boxing is so f'ing rigged. Robert Guerrero with two fights at 147 was a mandatory for Floyd sorta...but Paul Williams for a year was the mandatory got no shot...floyd retired came back and Paul was no longer his mandatory. Pacquaio fights hatton his mandatory (sorta) and doesn't have another mandatory until now. WTF is going on with these boxing organizations it feels like a fighter can go years without a legit mandatory as long as his promoter is powerfulComment

Bob arum
1.BOB ARUM in 2000 admitted during a federal trial that he bribed the International Boxing Federation president in order to gain a more favorable rating for one of his fighters. [5][6]
He was penalized $125,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission in 1995 for a bribe to get one of his fights sanctioned.

Boxing: Arum admits bribe over Foreman fight
PROMOTER Bob Arum has admitted in a New Jersey courtroom that he paid $100,000 (£62,500) in bribes to Bobby Lee, the International Boxing Federation president, in order to have a fight approved between then-heavyweight champion George Foreman and Axel Schulz of Germany.
Anyone care to argue this?Comment
