I would be OK with the fight. 140 to 147 is not much of a jump and I think Matthysse is as good as anybody that fights at 147. Most of the top 147 pounders fought at 147 not long ago. Pacquiao, Marquez, Bradley, Broner, Alexander, Guerrero and Maidana all came up from lower weights.

I think if Garcia wins, then we're definitely seeing Mayweather-Garcia next. It will be easy to promote, both guys speak English and Danny's father will help selling it.

Matthysse is a harder sell so Mayweather may opt to face Khan instead if he gets past Alexander.

Maybe.. Both huge fights however, I think we can both agree on that. Speaking english isn't a MUST but it does help.

anybody who says there is something wrong with the fight is just a hater. when you clean out the division you move up weight classes. with a win over Garcia, matthysse would be the kingpin of 140. the next step is a fight with the kingpin of 147.

I would give Mayweather credit for fighting Matthysse. They put Matthysse on the undercard because there will be more eyes on Mayweather vs Canelo than there would be if Matthysse and Garcia held their own card. And it's the right kind of eyes too. Casuel fans that dont really watch boxing. So i they preform well both Garcia and Matthysse would be an easy sell as Mayweathers next opponent.

Seems like Matthysse has the power to go to 147 and lose to Floyd. I say go for it.
