Having the right ingredients doesn't always mean the right outcome. And Broner vs Maidana is gonna be PPV, I dont see it doing very well. But I would like to see how Broner would react if Maidana connect flush with a heavy punch.

I think Broner-Maidana will do comparable numbers to Floyd-Gatti (Floyd's first PPV), which would be a success IMO.

Schaeffer has been matching his guys tough, and putting his top fighters in risky fights. Look at Mares, and not just his last fight with Gonzales either. The Ponce fight was very risky, and I thought Moreno was going to expose him for sure. Thurman and Chavez. Berto and Soto Karass. Going back to even Amir Khan and Danny Garcia. Khan Maidana, the list goes on. I mean, yes it would probably suck business wise for Broner to lose to Maidana, but I think Schaeffer would take it in stride and come up with something new. I dont care what anyone says, Golden Boy has been putting on the most competitive fights lately, and they keep them coming even when the A side loses.

You are right, good post. Fair play to Golden Boy as they have made some great fight in the last 12-18 months. Hope it continues.

If maidana KO's Broner it would be one of the most Hilarious backfires in promoting. I guess they could sell a big fight involving Maidana in it if he wins but that is obviously not their plan. The plan is for Broner to look spectacular vs Maidana and win in a dominating fashion.

I think you're right. At the same time, Maidana and his team really want Mayweather and see Broner as a step to get him. They know (Chino has in fact said it) that Maidana needs a big win to get Floyd. If, say, Chino KOs Broner, Mayweather - Maidana would be very marketable. I assume they asked GBP for a possible Mayweather fight and the answer was: "OK, beat Broner and you get Floyd", much like they told Matthysse "beat Peterson and you get Garcia". But it seems that Haymon thought twice before accepting this.

Well he is great at muff diving ho's, taking purses and punching old ladies, biting security guards, making racist comments, flushing money. He is not anyone's idol. Anyone who pulls for him in fights isn't right in the head or too biased which is the same thing.

Broner is not ppv material IMO...no charisma, just a foul, uneducated mouth w/talent but as the other fellow said, & I agree w/him 100% no mention of Thurman...now that could b PPV...

Yes you need to be a self promoter to be a PPV attraction, but you also need to have the skills.

To be a big ppv sell you either have to knock guys out in spectacular fashion or people have to want to see you lose. At the present moment, he still has potential for both.
