  • Fan Friendly or Reckless?

Lately there's a lot of pressure on some fighters to be "fan friendly" in part due to the cold war between GBP and Top Rank, to add to that there is a ton more pressure added on to them to give us a war every time by the networks trying to 1 up each other for fight of the year, and that's how they are being sold to the world as ferocious punching bags not as great boxers anymore.

Is this costing great fighters fights and will this cost them their health? Is this what the sport coming down to are we going to see a decline on talented skillful boxers thanks to this shift in boxing of Blood over Skills? Prime example last night Mares went full on wreck-loose as he had a reputation to uphold or Lara being Mr brawler with frikking Angulo and almost getting KTFO for the sake of being "Fan Friendly" or risk getting shunned to the corner comes to mind.

What do you Guys think skills dont pay the bills in the future anymore, no more room for Ali in our future? Is it going to be either be a Media wh0re or a tough headed brawler or you get shunned because it seems we are well underway in that direction and boxers know it too.

Of course, being constantly pressured by a strong, durable and heavy-handed puncher inside of a very small ring had little to do with Lara being involved in a "fan friendly" fight.

There is boring winning on points
To picking your spots , to going all out
      And living by the sword.

Every pro needs to realize if you wanna make money
You have to do what people think you cant or
Win an take risks at times( going for the ko)
      Or entertain. Those who dont
End up like rigo ,and bradley

Fan friendly is reckless. What people don't realize is it takes years off of your career and reduces the amount of money you can make in the fight game.

Mayweather, Hopkins, Klits, etc. have dominated for years and made tons of money in this game by fighting responsible and disciplined.

it just looks stupid and reckless when you're half conscious wailing away like bradley against provodnikov.....i mean there comes a point when you HAVE to clinch or back away....
