Sport and Congress Center, Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany - EBU light hevayweight champion Juergen Braehmer (41-2, 31KOs) dominated Stefano Abatangelo (17-3-1, 6KOs) over twelve rounds to earn a unanimous decision. The scores were 119-108, 119-108 and 115-111. Braehmer dominated the action for the first five rounds. The challenger began to find a few openings in the fifth, with Braehmer knocking him back. Braehmer went back to boxing in ths sixth, tagging the head and body. Abatangelo was cut over both eyes, from head clashes, going into the seventh.
