It's not his weight it's his height. If Mares can make 122 comfortably which he can, then he should be fighting at 122. His natural weight. I've always thought he was too small for 126 and over hyped a bit..Santa Cruz is next these guys have no defense..

Don't be daft, his eyes were glazed over after the 1st KD.

A guy like Mares deserves to see the next round. The round was over... He should've given him a chance to see how he recovered.

I'm shocked. All props to Gonzo! I do feel, however, that the ref should've let the fight go on. Would've loved to see if Mares could recover and make a fight of it (or possibly win the fight).

Wow!! 2 fights... A totally of 3 rounds!! Mares was a gentleman in defeat. I think he has a reason to be upset with the ref. I think he was jinxed by the he can be top p4p in the world.

I'm not big on the smaller fighters (under 140), except for the bigger names such as; Mares, Rigo, Russell Jr., etc., so I'm very surprise because I never heard of this guy Jhonny. I was sitting her telling my wife who was watching the fight with me, how good Mares is and I've seen his last 4 fights... then he loses in the 1st round. lol. He'll be back. he's still young.
