They are, but a small color patch in the head, usually in one of the eyes, is still acceptable by the breeds standard. The ones with with a patch in the eye are called "piratas" and I think Lucas dog is callwd that way too.
The Dogo Argentino is one damn fine dog, best dog I ever owned.
