Emanuel Steward and 9oz. Gloves

In one of his later broadcasts (either this year or last), Emanuel Steward suggested that weight classes between welterweight and cruiser/heavy wore 9oz. gloves instead of 10oz. It was argued that 10oz. gloves are too big for the smaller fighters to wear, since they're heavyweight gloves essentially.

I actually think it's a great idea, and a way to balance things out more effectively. 10oz. gloves on a 154lbs. fighter seems like a lot of protection and weight for that class.

Agreed....it'll result in more entertaining fights, more stoppages and more action.
