Comments Thread For: Rigondeaux on Martinez's Win, Talks Mares vs. Gonzalez

Kiko Martinez was a sizable underdog when he entered the ring last Saturday night against IBF super bantamweight champion Jhonathan Romero. However the Spaniard was able to buck the odds by applying relentless pressure to eventually breakdown the champion and capture a world title for the first time in his career.

On a recent edition of BoxingScene Radio, WBA/WBO king Guillermo Rigondeaux told us that he was impressed by Martinez's performance and that he would love to face him in the future.

"I saw the fight. I thought it was a good action fight. I thought he did a good job fighting the Colombian and he put on a good fight.

I agree with you. Rigo is shouting to everyone that he is not ducking ANYONE. Martinez said in another headline that he is considering not Rigo of course, but Frampton or whaerver other. Of course, Mares, Martinez, Nonito said that they don't want Rigo because of 122 even when they fought at 122 in this year, or because his style. Only ******s will believe those excuses for duck Rigo. They know they can't win him. They are a bunch of chickens, including Arum. They rather prefer Rigo get old and find another opportunity in 5 years jaja. Chickens

At the end, Rigo should hire a lawyer and break his contract with arum. What Arum is doing in favor of Rigo? Why Arum is not able to secure a fight to Rigo in a proper manner?. I agree that if Arum found a fight with enough time is good to Rigo to say no to that fight, besides, Rigo is the champion, not the other whoever Arum found. HE should break the contract in the same way as Gamboa did. I prefer to have a Barber shop in calle 8 like Gamboa has and not do whatever Arum wants me to do it. That's the Cuban style
