    The Forgotten ATG Mike McCallum

What a great fighter. James Toney said he was trickiest he ever fought (well besides Jones obviously)

Here he is taking big right hands and coming back against the hardest hitter of all-time, Julian Jackson

Yes, he was an amazing fighter,, the best 154 champ i ever saw.

he has kinda been lost in history, but 80's and 90's he was a top level fighter,,,

His fights with toney are spectacular high speed chess matches, if he was around today he would dominant canelo, floyd, cotto, trout, angulo, and lara at 154,,,,, and would probably be a top 4 p4p guy in this day and age

Was McCallum ever ranked P4P in the 90s? Or did those Toney fights hold him back? Im not up with it for the 90s and rankings

Good question,, im not sure, he probably was for at least one month, but it was hard to crack it back then with

pernell, chavez, holy, etc.... It was a really stacked era in terms of p4p

Im sure he had to have made it late 80s early 90s but am not positive

An absolutely great fighter, one of the smartest fighters I've ever watched. One of his best attributes, and you can see it here, is how calm he was in the ring. He was never flustered and didnt waste a thing. It was that coolness that made him a great fighter as much as anything else.
