Welterweight Oscar Godoy scored a second round knockout over former fringe contender Rogelio Castaneda in a scheduled six round bout. Godoy (11-2, 6 KOs) was cut above his right eye from an accidental clash of heads in the first round. In the second round, Godoy went on the offensive in the second round, backing Castaneda (26-17-3, 8 KOs) up against the ropes. Midway through the round, Godoy dropped Castaneda with a barrage of punches. Castaneda got up and tried to fight back, but Godoy overwhelmed Castaneda again. Moments later, another barrage dropped Castaneda to the canvas. Although Castaneda got up, his corner threw in the towel, prompting referee Jack Reiss to stop the bout at 2:47.
