  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: A Canelo win would be biggest ever in Mexico

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya believes that Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) would be the most important win in Mexican boxing history - even more so than Julio Cesar Chavez's dramtic stoppage of Meldrick Taylor in the closing seconds of the twelfth round. Canelo will defend his WBC/WBA 154-pound titles against Mayweather on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. [Click Here To Read More]

Put Oscar on suicide watch if Mayweather wins. 24/7 round the clock watch for two weeks following the fight. Oscar is so desperate for that win he didn't quite get.

Fcuk de la Hoe-ya! That Taylor fight should have went the distance. And fcuk King, Suliaman & I can't leave out Richard Steele.... Not a Floyd fan but Oscar's hard on for Floyd is annoying.....

If this fight means so much for Mexico then why do you live in America, Oscar? ??? Guys from other countries enjoy the freedom we enjoy as Americans, but forget about that when one of their own goes up against an American fighter. Strange how guys represent their country in the Olympics but come to this country to make a living. If you love Mexico so much, take your ass back their & make your money.........
