Comments Thread For: Bomba Gonzalez Wants New Trainer, Eyes Robert Garcia

22-year-old flyweight prospect Jonathan Gonzalez (13-1, 11KOs) of Puerto Rico is looking to make major changes to his corner after suffering the first loss of his career last week in Isla Verde. Gonzalez stepped up in class to face former champion Giovani Segura of Mexico, who many felt was beyond his best. Segura had more than enough to score three knockdowns before stopping Gonzalez in the fourth.

Not only are these chumps from pr making the fighters look bad but now they are making the trainers look even worst. Orlandito went over to nacho now this bum is trying to rock with Garcia. Smh sad stuff coming from the island!!!

Bomba looked like a new born calf against Segura.....it was man vs boy in that fight.

Apparently there is a shortage of good trainers in PR.

But Robert Garcia would be a good choice for him I think.

Garcia?? I guess he doesn't care about his defense if he chooses this trainer.

Exactly. How are you gonna put such an inexperienced fighter against such a heavy hitter as Segura? Just too risky. Reminds me Dolurme vs Abregu. Puerto Ricans are fine fighters but there's something definitely going wrong on that island right now.

Too many kids coming up without the fire... that anger that a fighter needs to fuel his will. A lot of these guys like JuanMa, lack the brand of hate, that their foes bring into the ring. Your body can only do so much if your mind is not running on killer. You have to be a killer and the more pain you feel, the more you should want to give out. A psycho in trunks who refuses to take his opponents lead ever.

All this tender new generation shet is NO good. We need some throwback.
