Has anyone brought up the biased HBO coverage?

With all the threads about the Paq-EM fight, I was wondering if anyone had brought up the extremely biased pro-Morales announcing of Lampley and Steward.

Especially in the early going, they seemed to think that a Morales win was a done deal. I mean, for crying out loud, he was stumbling around after that one shot in the 2nd and they seemed to think it was no big thing. All they could talk about was how much smarter a fighter he was, and how his chin was so strong that Paq would never be able to take him down.

You know, I thought Morales would win myself, but in the early going it was pretty obvious that he was going to have a hard time.

Anyway, if this has already been discussed at length I apologize.

I don't remember anything in particular, but I wouldn't be surprised. Lampley has no opinions and just 'goes with the flow'. This is also the same network that was surprised that Cotto wasn't as good as they stated he was. Remember Cotto was the next Tito?

No kidding about Cotto. Watch the replay of the fight this weekend and you'll see they had nothing but good things to say about Morales until it was obvious he was getting his ass kicked, then they suddenly switched gears.

they're always biased as hell. In the Rocky Juarez vs. Soto fight, they were all over Soto's **** before the bell even rang. No doubt Juarez was screwed in that fight. Guess he pissed off the wrong people.

You should hear them in the Wlad-Sanders matchup. Merchant was the harshest.

He went from calling Wlad untouchable to the "next big bust." Oh, I have this fight stored on my computer. It's just truly funny. It's also funny that they were dismissing Wlad in the fight (some 5 years ago) and Wlad is STILL on HBO.

HBO was the worst when they were pro-Taylor after Hopkins split from his manager who was on HBO's payroll. That made me sick to my stomach. Them no longer supporting Hopkins.

I agree wit you. They are biased. Stewart was all like standing up fo his opinion " NO NO NO, THE GLOVES MAKES No DIFFRENCE"

then Stewart and Lampley goes "Manny hit him right there wit huge shot WIT REYES GLOVES ON and still Erik is taking them"

they're biased and they were still biased until the 8th round of you asked me. LOL! They just had to call it Pac cuz Pac won of course. LOL!

thn Jim Lampley at the end of 5th round was like "so if the question is, IS THIS FIGHT DIFFERENT FROM LAST TIME, the answer is NOOOO" I felt like punchin his face on the TV. I'm like, you just wait beotch, Pac will get his rythm goin.

Lampley & Steward may have been pro-Morales in calling that fight but Larry Merchant was always there to defend Pac(he's a proven Pac nuthugger )

I only saw that fight once and don't remember it all that well, but that's pretty hilarious. HBO's stable of fighters is looking pretty grim right now outside Mayweather.
