Now, I know everybody says forget the Brinkley fight, that as forever ago... well here's his most recent fight that went the distance.
Alright, i just rewatched this fight and had it 78-74 Stevens with the KD that was called in Round 7 as a 10-9 round. This was his most recent fight this year and is a better gauge than the Brinkley fight.
My thoughts:
1. Stevens went to the ropes too damn much. I know it’s because Findley was smothering him and gave him no room there, but Golovkin can cut the ring and his jab is more than enough to push you there. He does nasty work on the ropes and rips the worst body shots.
2. He has the one punch power that NBC is drooling over, but how long does it last. I saw him land some left hooks that wobbled Findley and had him hurt, but later in the fight he landed more left hooks and in succession with other combinations and Findey just ate it... while he was dead tired.
