Comments Thread For: Canelo: Mayweather is Still The Pound For Pound King

WBC/WBA 154-pound junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) is less than a month away from his showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs), set for September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Although Mayweather is 36-years-old and there are those who question whether the boxer is still at his bext, but Canelo says Floyd is still the best boxer in the world, pound-for-pound, and he will treat him as such when they step in the ring.

Why would anyone question if an undefeated boxer is "still at his best"?

    Yo no say

I think canelo needed to have faced more solid fighters from his weight class and not only that, but boxers like trout, guys who have boxing skills to come into this fight more experienced, the trout fight was close and fights like that would have done him some good to get ready for mayweather, atleas two fights like that before facing Floyd,i said it before,i think he'll lose but I don't think it will be as easy for Floyd as many think

Canelo seems very mature, he sais all the right things too...

if he cant catch Floyd early, his stamina better hold up, that trout performance lets me believe he needs a early ko...

Hahaha, all these idiots saying that canelo is sayin the truth about Floyd. No, Canelo, like most boxers say that because if he wins, he will say " Hey, know I´m the best ". Floyd is overhyped, he is just great defensively, and he is a cheater and a coward achieving his defensive goals. Why? Someone who holds, hits with elbows and runs for half the fight is a coward. The minute he loses his fake 0, not many people would follow him.
