It's clear that Kovalev's promoter wanted to get a HBO contract so they picked Cleverly instead of Hopkins because of the HBO/GB feud. Hopkins is the one who was avoided for business reasons.

Exactly, I don't get the whole "Hopkins ducked Kovalev" If a fighter skips on his mandatory spot to fight some one else, an easier opponent, how is Hopkins ducking?
