I thought Ashley beat Danny Garcia.

I thought Matthysse deserved at least a draw or win in one of in his two losses.

Both Garcia & Lucas has improved since then.

Had the fight been just another fight Judah, win or lose, he would have fought like his usual defensive self, and the fight would have been very different

Maybe the "motivation" is what gave him the spirit to last the full 12 despite the beating he was taking, and win the last 4 as Garcia (like he always does) faded down the stretch... But it also is the only reason Garcia was able to have that success
