      outcomes from the fight -

Geale SD win would be possible
      Draw would be likely
Barker SD win would be feasible.

Exactly! You see that, the very first person to respond hit it right on the money. End of thread.

Noticed a lot this fight where the crew purposely ignored a lot of work that Barker did and only commented on parts where Geale did good....mainly Max and Jim, especially early on in the fight. Jones commented on Barker's effort early but as Geale faded down the stretch, they started to hit on more of Barker's work.

Re-watched it last night and even with the KD, I still had Barker winning by 3 points....didn't really think this fight was as close as people are saying. Barker landed more consistently and his punches were very solid.

Well, I guess they felt he deserved to win n just gave him the rd. Great judging!

This happens in loads of fights. People only look at the final score of judges but never round by round. This is why boxing is so ****. There aren't consistent scores.

True but its not all on the judges either. Most people dont even look at a fight round by round and go by who they 'feel' won....which leads to a lot of accusations about judging that are unwarranted.

That's some poor judging, Geale had Barker hurt & landed the clearer shots in the 12th.

But the general consensus is that people had Geale winning the 12th but losing 114-113 in a very close fight.

Pretty much this, I suspect most of these judges aren't even hardcore boxing fans. Neutral boxing trainers would make the best judges imo, they've lived the sport.

that fight was close. the scoring will never be consistent. scoring in boxing is far from perfect. judging a fight from ringside is tougher than it looks, and you're stuck in one spot and limited accordingly.
