Exactly! No one was calling him any names, he was being interviewed by Boxingscene when he made those comments! He lashed out off the cuff in response to nothing at all and out of the blue made his racist opinions known.

Are you NOT from the USA?????????????? If you are not, please DO NOT respond ANYMORE because you do not understand the negative connotations in the USA made regarding ethnicities and food stereotyping. The ***** Ad was considered offensive and removed. That is not for you to debate. Just because you don't know these connotations doesn't mean they don't exist in our culture in the USA. What Imu said was offensive too and he deserved to be fired on the spot. It is very obvious you are not from the USA or you would know about the connotations. Look up comments about fried chicken, watermelon, etc., because this is an area you either don't live in or lack knowledge of and you cannot be objective. Use google and learn about this stuff. If you are from outside the USA, I get it. But you cannot be discussing things that pertain to the USA Culture in this regard if you are not a part of this culture and expect to have a perspective!! These things go back MANY, MANY years, Decades and some a century!!

Yeah I've heard from people who have talked to him off camera that Broner's not really like that, it's just an act.

I'm from the USA and to be honest I was not even aware of the ad. People need to have thicker skin IMO the ad was in poor taste though as I've just googled it but IMO it would have more to do with how they did it than ***** being a black man

look at the ad, it looks friggin awful. No world leader should be cartooned like that If Bill Clinton himself was on an ad like that I'd want it taken down

It's not HOW they did the Ad, it is how they STEREOTYPED a Black man and if a Black man is offended by the Ad, that person or group has every right to demand that it be removed. The point is, you mentioned food and why it is racist and I showed you examples so hopefully you will understand this now - but it is the negative connotation to certain food that combines to make a statement. People DO NOT need to have thicker skin, people need to stop making racial slurs and racially motivated comments, it is not acceptable! It is OFFENSIVE when someone puts a picture of Floyd on a bucket of KFC but they probably get away with it because they are calling Floyd a chicken rather than directly making the connotation that society looks down on, though I wonder about the real intention, which cannot really be proven. Still, it is in poor taste. I would rather see people talk about the food, the lifestyles, the music, Sports, and culture of Blacks, Hispanics, etc in the many positive ways. There is a lot to love and appreciate about those cultures.

                • This is from CBS News and I cannot agree more with what is being said, it is right on the money:

"There are certain things that have been used to put down black people - watermelon, fried chicken," neighbor Woody Henderson told WNBC.

Added Bronx resident Jason Nunez: "Even if he's not the president, you're going to have an African American promoting the sale of chicken? They can do better than that."

                    • In other words - Say something good!! I remember as a teen I was knocking on doors in Longview Texas and a Black family opened the door and I asked if I could do some yard work for food and they said there is no need to do some work and they said they were getting ready to serve lunch and they welcomed me in and all I can say is along with that real hospitality, they made some of the best Soul Food I have ever had and were very warm toward me. I'll never forget that. My mother had a Soul Food cookbook and it had some good recipes but nothing compared to that buffet spread that Sunday that those people invited me in to.

I remember when we moved into a house in East Oakland and the Mexican family next door came that first evening with all kinds of warm foods and welcomed us to the neighborhood and man, that food was great and so was their welcoming presence. The next place in Oakland we moved into the Mexican family upstairs from us did the same thing. That family upstairs, man, thats the kind of food that someone should open a restaurant with.

In other words, A) don't tolerate racial remarks and B) say something nice about a race, creed, color, nationality!
