booing the american anthem is hilarious precisely because of how upset you guys get. that whole flag worshipping culture you have is viewed as perverse here in europe.
That's true if you mean by adding to the excitement that it makes you want the UK fighter to get smashed.

and what year was that? It's 2013 bro, we can bring up instances from 30 years ago.
Why are British boxing fans the best the world? Because you consistently praise highly overrated fighters? And your statement also made it sound as if nothing has ever happened and I just pointed out that it has. I am also not that old and I clearly remember watching, in real time, the bull5hit events that unfolded when Hagler beat Minter. So possibly you are just in denial. It probably isn't really your fault. Because I am sure anyone would be in a state of denial when supporting so many highly overrated fighters over a period of time.

yeah sure. that antagonistic atmosphere is exciting. british boxing fans basically just behave like football fans. it's a tribal thing.

Gene Tunney said, "They [the fans] are welcome to boo me," Tunney said. "But they have to pay for the privilege."

BOO the Fighter, BOO his ring walk, BOO his introduction, BOOing a natinal anthem is classless and a behaviour only found in the UK. I'm sure if there anthem was BOO'ed at sporting events around the World they wouldnt like it.

I could be wrong, but then again, I could be right in saying that Nazeem Hamed was booed constantly when he was fighting in America. Tyson Fury didn't do too well either.

At least we are original enough to come up with something better than "boooo".
I remember Naz had a drink thrown on him during his ring entrance and then he got showered with boos as he honored his people by saying a few words in Arabic....Lennox Lewis went toe to toe with Vitali in the last great brawl the division has seen only to be treated like Joe Blow afterwards by the crowd and the HBO interviewer.....so yeah, the Brits get the away team treatment by the Americans as well

German fans have no idea about what be going on in the ring.....that's why I was sitting in the British section at the Wlad-Haye fight....I was able to hold a boxing conversation with them unlike the Germans

Anthems get booed all across Europe in various sports, it's really not that big of a deal. We're used to it.

In the US they bring in music stars at major sporting events to sing their anthem at the top of their voice and everyone gets all proud and emotional but it's just not that sacrosanct here.
