Very good fight but that's about it. Too many breaks in action (mostly by Geale ducking his head low and Barker pushing him down a tad).

A better candidate would be round of the year, I believe round 6 where Barker was knocked down, barely got up, looked like Geale was about to finish him then suddenly Barker hurt Geale and came back.

It will def be mentioned as one but it really has a chance of winning round of the year, when the body shot happened and Barkers comeback at the end, epic stuff.

          This ^^

That 6th round was something else, I've been trying to think of a time a fighter has got up from a big body shot like Barker did to win the fight...

As of right now Figueroa Jr. vs. Arakawa is FOTY

very exciting and entertaining fight. It would not win FOTY but it definitely is that caliber of fight

one fight which i think was FOTY caliber yet no one mentions it is Bey-molina. It isnt the FOTY but it is definately up there, two clash of styles, both guys had theire moments then a dramatic come from behind needed knock out finish

No. Aside from Geale's punch to the ribs it didn't look like either of them could really hurt each other and most of the rounds followed the same pattern: lots of punches thrown, lots of punches landed but very little effect being seen.

I haven't really watched boxing for long and maybe I look for different things to most fans. I prefer a chess match and/or a fight that swings between the fighters.

It was a one-sided mismatch, the wonder of the fight was that despite getting brutalized and knocked down several times, Arakawa ended the fight on his feet. How anyone can call that fight a FOTY candidate truly boggles the mind.
