Like I said, when your best win is Bellew (and that was a win that could have gone either way) you haven't really done much and you're a world champion; it's embarrassing.
Cleverly just hasn't fought anyone of note IMO.

It's annoying though that you get a collection of US posters ready to jump in any time a British fighter loses even to a foreign fighter (from Russia of all places).
I read on a thread that he wasn't making any bold predictions because that's how you end up looking ******.
I never thought it was a 50/50, I put money on Kovalev and I haven't bet on boxing in a long time.
I ended up not doing anything, but that Evol guy is parading around... I think the thread you're talking about is mine and they got into a circle jerk there

No it couldn't. It was close but clear. I'm not saying he has beaten elite fighters, but to call them tomato cans is a bit much and not true. His resume was equal if not better than Kovalev's at the time of the fight.
All Cleverly has is work-rate. That's all I've ever really seen from him. Never been impressed.
Kovalev was blasting through his guys. He showed he was on another level.

Clev is quite clearly the best on Kovalev's resume. and that is by quite a stretch.

Here's a source regarding the fight being called off: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/13440189
Braehmer, 32, was due to face Cleverly, 24, at London's 02 Arena on Saturday, but a cut eye suffered in training on 8 May has failed to heal.
The German won the WBO belt in 2009 and has made one defence but could now be stripped of his title.
If so, Cleverly - the interim champion - will be awarded the title by default.Last edited by KillerRightHook; 08-17-2013, 05:59 PM.
