    • So, Floyd gives a bum like Berto a second chance after losing to Ortiz. Yet Pacquiao dominated boxing for years, & Floyd was too scared to face him at his very best. Now even when Pacquiao is past his prime, he's saying even if he beats Rios & whoever else it doesn't matter, that he'll never fight him.

I'm hoping that when people look back at Floyd's career & his legacy, it's going to always have a long paragraph about never being willing to face Pacquiao. He actually thinks staying undefeated means anything. I give him credit for having some very good wins, but he never was willing to face the very best aka prime Cotto, prime Margarito, & Pacquiao in general.

      • It is sad for the sport of boxing that the two best fighters that are in the same division are not fighting. While I'm a Mayweather fan I don't agree with him not giving Pac a shot. He calls himself money but doesn't want any part of the fight that will earn him his biggest purse ever. He says he's focused on his legacy and giving the fans the fights they wanna see, but wants no part of Pacquiao. People say Floyd is scared. If he is my question is why? Pacquiao brings nothing to the table that Floyd can't adapt to. Yes he has great hand speed and power, but Floyds defense and accurate counter punching can negate that. Marquez has proven that you don't have to be faster to beat Pacquiao, you just have to time him and Floyd has the best timing in boxing today.

But lets not put the sole blame on Mayweather. Pacquiao and Bob Arum have played their part too. Lets rewind back to the first negotiations. Mayweather agreed to all of Pacquiao's terms in regards to money, ring and glove size. All he asked for in return was that both of them undergo blood and urine drug testing. Pacquiao disagreed and made every excuse in the book from fear of weakness to phobia to needles, even though he has tattoo's. The second time Floyd agreed to the fight Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, came up with some BS about needing more time to build an outside area for more people to attend. Really? He also demanded a date of the fight for which during that time Mayweather would be incarcerated. What sense does that make? Bob Arum clearly did not want the fight. There is bad blood between Arum and Floyd, and the last thing he wanted to see is his prize fighter getting beat by Mayweather.

So in closing I say in my opinion both of these guys need each other. They can't say their the best in their era if they have not fought each other. While they may be inducted to the Hall of Fame I would not consider them as all time greats in my opinion. Fighters with that title have fought the best in their era and they deserve it. Its just a big black eye when the best fight ever is not happening due to bickering and egos. What about doing it for the fans? Boxing has abandoned that concept, which is to why it is considered a dying sport. I really hope the egos and bickering get pushed to the side and this fight happens. I seriously doubt it though.

              • looks like pacquiao and all his and arum's excuses (scared of needles, building a stadium, sissy lawsuits,50-50 split, changing of dates, unhealed eye cut, filipine elections) and so on has caught up with them. when pac turned down the $40 million guarantee. i said he has the biggest cowardly balls in the history of the sport.

all roads lead to the p4p king, undefeated fighter of the decade and counting, best skilled, and highest paid athlete in sports. there's no blue print to defeat him.

                  • It's obvious Floyd doesn't keep track of anything he says and simply says the first thing that comes to mind to promote himself. Stop freaking out over his statements. He's not putting any thought behind this stuff. Relax. I'm sure he'd fight him if the deal was right.

                    • Hope this turn out to be a contradiction of the contradiction. I understand why Floyd would be frustrated but I really hope they end up fighting.
