At the time I thought Barker quit because it didn't look like a KO punch, but I guess the ear injury must have just hurt him too much for him to get up and get hit some more. Inner ear can be seriously painful.

Is it really worth debating, either that right hook was more damaging than it looked or Barker gave up on himself. The fact that what I saw coincided with a lot of the comments that were made on here, I'm inclined to believe he gave up on himself. Barker put forth a very good effort, gave a really good account of himself but Martinez never stopped pouring it on, and he gave in.

I could be wrong, but again...it didn't look like that hard of a punch and it was half blocked

You are right you have taken more punches than I ever will. I stopped boxing 3 years ago.
It's silly that your proud how many punches you've taken though, considering what boxing is all about. I guess it explains why your theory is so moronic.
Again you clearly know nothing about Barker, now if we are betting I'd put my life on the fact that he has achieved more in boxing than you ever will, or even come close to.

So good luck with your career as a twat writing slanderous nonsense on boxing forums.

Barker was exhausted and had no answers to what Martinez was doing. I think the ear injury was causing him more pain than we realize and although the shot was blocked by the glove not all of the impact was absorbed by the glove and a lot of the energy got through to the ear causing a sharp pain. If you are injured and in severe pain you can start looking for a way out and that final combo was enough is enough time for Barker.

If it was fixed, why would they set it up to make Sergio look like he was getting outboxed and frustrated just at the time in his career when he was getting hyped?? Why would Sergio pay a no-name like Barker to take a dive when he had just murdered Paul Williams??

Get out of here with all that son.

Sergio started putting it on Barker in the final two rounds. It went from being a close fight to a one-sided beatdown. That right hook popped his eardrum and that was all she wrote.
