I think you make valid points. My only counter would be, when is the last time Floyd fought someone who could really pressure him or walk him down? He has been fighting guys that he could easily avoid and didn't have the footwork to force Floyd into their pace. DLH in the early rounds? Cotto had some moments but Floyd controlled the pace of that fight, Cotto was reacting for the most part.
I think that's what makes this a great matchup. I give Floyd some props for taking the challenge (BS catchweight not withstanding). He is facing a bigger guy in his physical prime. Canelo will have to be much more active than he showed against Trout but that comes down to training the right way. Canelo could get schooled but I think if he wins we have seen stranger things happen. How many of us on these boards predicted JMM destroying Pac a few months back?

Is this how the Canelo haters saved themselves from being completely embarressed because they were completely wrong and were proven clueless?

I want answers!!! How is that a fighter is givn so much praise and then the play it off like they never gave him praise in the first place?
You should know how this works. It's been happening to Floyd for almost 10 years now

Oh yeah and to answer TS's question, I didn't even think Trout would beat Cotto. Trout was a good fighter, but I saw no ground breaking attributes in his style. At the time, I felt like there were several other JMW's who were better than Trout (i.e. Lara, Angulo and Kirkland). I know the Kirkland fight couldn't be made because of his legal issue with GB; but the point is, the Trout fight was a good victory. It's something Canelo should've been doing years ago; but let's not get ahead of ourselves and think it was some kind of epic event.

In my book, it's his first good win in his own division; something that's mandatory for all champs. Now, let's see what he's got on Sep 14.

To be frank, I think he's in a world of hurt

Canelo is fighting Mayweather, so automatically everyone that Canelo had fought previously becomes a BUM which includes Trout.

It's an interesting style clash nonetheless, Canelo has deceptively fast hands, very good counter puncher as well so Floyd has to be sharp. He can feint real well too, and Judah was the last person who had a ton of success in baiting Floyd. I think Floyd's footwork is what Canelo will struggle with most, then breaking through the defense. Like the Guerrero fight I'm not expecting Floyd to use the left hook much, it's gonna be straight punches entirely.
