Holy ****! Hatton has Never lost legitimately, amateur or pro

Jürgen Brahmer beat him twice in 1996 at welterweight, here's what Ricky has said about those fights "I just remember Brahmer was naturally bigger than me. Brahmer walked right through me to be fair, he was 6ft and I'm only 5ft6. I had decided to move up in weight and use speed against the bigger guys but it didn't work out, the first fight I had with Brahmer he walked through me and the second fight I just tried to survive for two rounds then get inside at the end but he was too tall."

What the ever-modest Ricky doesn't mention is that Brahmer is considered the best talent to EVER come out of Germany, and soon after beating Hatton went on to hold amateur wins over Felix Sturm, Carl Froch and Jermain Taylor.
Brahmer was a junior-middleweight fighting at welterweight and Hatton was a light-welterweight fighting at welterweight, so it can't be classed as legit.

Richard Hatton (Sale ABC) had only lost once up to that point and it came against Graham Earl at the 1993 Junior ABA featherweight final, in 1995 here's what Ricky said about his only loss at that point: "I thought I beat Graham, but things don't always go your way."

What the ever-modest Ricky doesn't mention is that that was his last ever fight at featherweight (he'd only ever fought at featherweight at that point, since 1990), because he was struggling to make the weight limit. And that even Earl himself has admitted that he got a gift decision against Hatton!

Ricky's only other loss came at the Junior World Championships in 1996 at 139 against a Russian, in 1999 here's what Ricky said about his last loss: "I was so gutted about it that I put my bronze medal in a drawer and have never looked at it since."

What the ever-modest Ricky doesn't mention is that he suffered possibly the most disgusting robbery in amateur boxing of the last 10 years.

    From Hatton biog:
Later the same year the young ‘Hitman’ travelled to Cuba to compete in the World Junior Championships. In what has got to go down as the most controversial decision Rick has had to contend with in his whole career to date, Rick was robbed of the gold medal in much the same way Roy Jones Jnr was of his Olympic Gold, by some disgraceful judging.

Four of the five judges had Ricky the winner in the semi-final against the fighter that later went on to eventually win the Gold. The fifth judge had Ricky so far behind on his scorecard that when the overall point’s totals were tallied up, Ricky had been edged out of the final and resigned to 3rd place and the World Junior Bronze.

An investigation was launched due to the de****able decision, but before the fifth judge in question could be interviewed and a statement given, he was murdered and the subsequent investigation was closed.

At the end of the day, Hatton has never legitimately lost a light-welterweight fight in his entire life. He's been a light-welterweight since 1995. He won the ABA light-welterweight title in 1997 a few weeks before turning pro.

Top-class amateurs that Ricky beat - Albert Coates, Paata Gvasaliya, Timur Gaydalov, Pavel Slavov and Roberto Guerra (Cuban national welterweight champion five years in a row starting the year after Hatton beat him).

Hatton would often triple up on the left hook back then real fast, often scored three points doing that.

"People see me as just a strong youngster, but I have very underestimated boxing skills," Hatton said. "I won 76 out of 80 amateur fights. I won nine amateur titles. I can think in there. I know what I have to do to beat Vince. I have to have a good defense. I have to be quicker. I have to show good footwork. I have to make him miss."

Whether Hatton is a natural welterweight or not he went up in weight to fight so the loss is legit.

              It was a junior-middleweight fighting a light-welterweight, though.

With that logic, Lennox Lewis win versus Holyfield wasn't legit because it was a heavy against a light heavy. Outside of the fight with Moorer, Holyfield hasn't ever lost a fight legitamitely ...according to that logic of course
