Newly crowned IBF I/C jr. welterweight champ Ignacio "Natxo" Mendoza, 38-7-2, will defend the title against Turk Selcuk Aydin, 25-2, on September 27 in Istanbul, writes boxen-heute.de.
Both men won fights in Cuxhaven on July 27 and that set up this fight. After losses at welter in the US to Roberto Guerrero and Jesus Soto Karass, Aydin decided to drop down to jr. welter and this will be his first major fight in his new weight division.
