All depends on how they take the weight off, there's a chance it could be done the wrong way, I guess we will find out on fight Night

        Depends on how he rehydrates.

Dawson hydrated fine, but he got his ass kicked anyways. People looking to discredit Ward will blame the weight but Dawson was just never that good which is why he was a big underdog and got smacked around.

It all depends. These things should be done ona case by case scenario.

I thought he was a pound lighter at 30 days for the Trout fight and has to lose a pound and a half more. I definitely don't know much about cutting weight but there were people on here making a big deal about Cotto going down to 145 when he was 146 the fight before and how hard and draining it is to lose an extra pound when you are completely drained. And several guys over the years have said after fight that they had no energy b/c losing the weight took so much out of them.

Like I said I hope that is the not the case but I didn't think that picture of him today was a good sign. Looks way too skinny with a lot more weight to lose.

If he really is under 170 right now he shouldn't have a hard time making weight. He just needs to make sure he doesn't peak in training camp to earlier

Exactly, a month to cut 14 pounds isn't a lot especially in a weight cutting sport. People shouldn't compare him to Mayweather or Pacquiao because they are special cases in this era.

I know it is not uncommon but are guys usually that lean 30 days out with 15 pounds left to lose?

15 pounds you moron not 5.

and no, trying to lose weight and rehydrating is like night and day. fighters have to train hard to lose weight and they do it gradually. rehydrating on the other hand, they do it just overnight. losing 10 lbs in a month if you're already fit is not easy. make that 15 lbs and it's like going through hell...whereas rehydrating is like heaven.

Canelo will be at 10% when he fights, damn the draining....Floyd gets no credit for the win.

The difference is Dawson was trying to make a weight by losing 7 lbs that he hadn't made in like 7 years or something while Canelo is trying to weigh in 2 pounds less than he did 4 months ago.
