  • The only good thing about this is that he is only 22 years old. His body can handle a lot more than a 30 year old and up could.

A bum ass sleepiauo fan talking about a catch weight? Go smack yourself. Who is pac fighting again? Didn't Rios lose and moving up in weight?? Oh Aight!

He passed up on Alvarado claiming Mike was hurt yet he is fighting in October a month before they fight. So is pac a liar now to his fan?? Or was he doing like normal fighting fighters off of losses!

Clottey, Mosley, Margarito, now Rios and he is supposed to be the best? GTFOH with that. So is Rios some huge threat now? If so what would people say of Floyd were fighting him coming off of a loss, moving up in weight?

I swear Boxingscene needs to ban dumb ass posters like you...

        No excuses.
Hey I'm not making excuses for a Canelo loss, I'm not even a fan of his. I'm just saying he may look sickly come fight night. He is likely still growing and was big for 154 already so making the weight will be harder every time he has to do it. People grow out of weight classes all the time. Just looking at the picture I don't see where all the weight will come off without it being detrimental to Canelo. He already looks a bit dry in that picture as it is.

For a guy his size he is right on track , you need to go to a boxing gym and have a go at this sport , to many armchair experts in here that don't know sht .

Read the numbers kid and then imagine a much bigger guy losing the same weight , its not hard to figure out what side is up .

Exactly. He will get his head beaten either way. 52 or 54.

Keep in mind that Canelo 98.9% choice of opponents have been smaller guys coming up to face him.

He needs to be at 160+lbs but he knows he is NO competition for those guys. He will be murdered, killed and beaten into submission at 160lbs.

His fans needs to stop with the weight excuse. He made 153.5lbs for Trout, its only 1.5lb.

                    No excuses!

That's not a fair assessment. He is only 22, so rushing to get up to 160 or more is not necessary. He will get there eventually and maybe the time is now, after this fight. He certainly is still growing physically.

I view this the same as Cotto's last fight at 140 Vs Malignaggie. He looked very skinny in the fact, something changed from his previous fights at that weight. He usually looked healthy and with a lot of muscle mass but not for that one. In the end, it didn't matter as he was still young back then and whipped Paulie before moving up 147.

                    • I'd actually love to see Canelo step on the scale and weigh 154. Floyd is a master of mind games, but I'd like to see his reaction when he has to eat a little bit of it in return.

I think Canelo might actually be arrogant enough to do it, too.
