Who are you speaking for? You can't be speaking for boxers. Have you ever seen what a fighter earns and who he has to pay, and what goes into his pocket? Speak for yourself.

it's very obvious that golovkin is avoided.
Look, these sentimental answers that you are giving don't cut it. Are you suggesting that Pirog ducked GG because if you are, we can end this conversation. Get your facts straight on that issue.

Fighters didn't get into this game to duck guys. They want the glory and hype that other guys are getting so cut the GG is avoided crap. Macklin lost by a body shot in 3 rounds. Macklin reacted so badly to the shot that I asked myself how could I give GG props for that ish?

I've seen many up and coming fighters AND many newly crowned young champions who were untested win in stunning fashion against inferior comp and be called great prematurely, but I've never heard of a fighters fans bragging so much about a guy that they think is being ducked. Go sell that ish to someone who has seen pfp guys ko'd.

          Do you know?
We know unless you fight on a good t.v network, they usually don't make as much.
If you're from a foreign country, you'd have to sell out the venue to see that kind of money as well.

Stevens got exposed as a fraud

Posting pics of him with cash that was most likely fronted by his manager.

Called out GGG, was offered his highest purse, then said 'nah'

But, the usual suspects running to his defense. He's a fraud, and is trying to make a name for himself using GGG's name. It's pretty sad. GGG should just forget this fraud, let him back on NBC making 40K a fight and making weak "call-outs"

GGG has better, more legit options waiting for him

I'll talk boxing with you only when we aren't talking about GG. You mind is clouded when it comes to this man.

You guys can't even admit that GG is untested. You won't even say that he is 31 and should probably contemplate a move to 168 if he can't get fights at 160. Everything is "GG is ducked, GG is ducked again". I can't ride with that anymore.

I think the request for more money is a win-win for team Stevens. Kathy Duva rightfully doesn't think Stevens is ready for Golovkin. Stevens called out someone everyone is avoiding. If they turn down the request for more money her boxer can save face. If they blink and agree to pay more then her boxer is getting paid way above his worth. If he loses, he can probably go back to NBC and continue to rack up wins and a get a steady pay day. The $300k says they see him as a serious opponent. If he continues to KO people like he has HBO will seek him and eventually he'll get his $300k+ payday.

He is untested against another champion.
Macklin and Proksa were all his biggest tests to date until he crushed them.
Before the Macklin fight, everybody was raving that he hasn't fought a true middleweight yet and Macklin will take him to deep waters. Now his liver is crushed.
Stevens isn't even a test. Geale will be a test and he wanted a voluntary before he fought Golovkin, he'll have 2 after this week if he's still champion.

That doesn't even make sense though.
If Stevens was making more than that already then fine, but there is no point in his career he made 100k or close to it in one fight.
But Stevens was calling him out, K2 gave them a more than generous offer, same they offered Macklin... and they think they're worth more?
Worked in the getting your name out there department.... but they saved no face at all

Have Main Events actually turned down the offer yet?

Anyway imo Ward is wrong. Indirectly boxing fans pay his wages, but regardless of that they can say whatever they like just like he can, it's a free country.
