Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has suffered a small cut on his eyelid, likely from a sparring session, and needs at least three weeks to properly heal. As a result, Chavez will not be ready to fight Brian Vera in an HBO televised fight on September 7th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Chavez has been training in his hometown of Culiacan under the supervision of Vladimir Baldenebro, Alex Ariza and his father, the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez.

it would be good if they put it on the pac-rios undercard, Top Rank really needs to start getting some good undercards going to try and compete with goldenboy. If not it would be good on the marquez-bradley fight too, but i know this is just wishful thinking and it'll never happen
