i personally dont think morales should retire, however if he does then here is no shame in that, he is a LEGEND, a HOF fighter and was definatly one of the best boxers in the last 10 years, how many fighters can say they were at the top or near the top for 10 years, i definatly give morales his respect and this is comin from a massive barrera fan.
morales can still come back and win another title, hes only29 years old, i know he has been in a lot of wars but you cant count morales out after a loss, give him time to reat and heal up and he will come back strong. in his last 4 fights he has lost 3 of them, but in all honesty there is NO SHAME whatsoever in losing to barrera, pacman and a very underated raheem, all morales does is test himself, looks for the biggest fights out there, the guys gonna be missed when hes gone, i feel hes a bit underappreciated for what he has done for boxing too. youve heard of the saying "you dont know what you got until its gone" i feel us boxing fans will get htat feeling when morales hangs it up.
morales however will have trouble making 130lbs and he did look sluggish against raheem at 135lbs, i cant see him fighting people at a catch weight of 132 1/2 lbs so perhaps hes body is telling him enough is enough???
i might sound crazy saying this, but if morales wants to come back then it should only be for 2 things, the first option would be to try and avenge his loss to pacman and have a third fight, morales has what it takes to beat pacman, he has proved that already, and the 2nd one is to try and get a belt at lightweight and beome the first (or maybe 2nd if barrera beats chavez) mexican to win titles in 4 weight classes.Comment
