  • Comments Thread For: Arum Discusses Reunion With Cotto, Rigondeaux's Return

BoxingScene.com and other members of the media caught up with legendary promoter Bob Arum at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino Saturday night where the 81-year-old Top Rank CEO was being inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame.

Arum spoke on a variety of topics including reuniting with former three-division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-4). The Puerto Rican began his career with Top Rank and has fought all but two of his career fights under their promotional banner.

"Miguel Cotto is a guy that we raised from the beginning. Understand this, he became a free agent and then he fought Mayweather and then this other fight (versus Austin Trout) and then when the time came he decided to come back to us," Arum explained while praising Cotto for his loyalty and honesty. Cotto's shot, too small for JMW, and too lazy to make WW apparently
the guy is working on name alone at this point
as for Rigo, don't see him going anywhere
gonna be an underappreciated champ because he's boring
Arum has a responsibility to at least try to push the damn guy
but it's on Rigo to take that push and do something with it
rarely see a guy after a big title win get shut down like him

I wonder who they have planed for Crawford, this guy has amazing talent,
      hope it's a quality opponent.
This could end up being a really interesting card.

Cotto is washed up,,, like jack napier posted,,, too small for actual JRmids and too lazy to make ww.....

I think delvin is a horrible choice for a comeback opponent,, cotto needed to fight a k9 or somebody like that to get in the win column,,,,
Delvin is a true Jrmid, and the cotto fight will be his superbowl,,,, I think delvin will be motivated and in shape and will cause cotto alot of problems down the strecth...

I think bob is looking to cash out cotto if he beats delvin,,,

Cotto-serg at a cw would do big numbers and be a perfect comeback fight for serg,,

i would like to see rigo vs chemito moreno,,, that would be a very technical fight but i think chemito is the only one that can match rigo's technical skills,,,

The names are Yuriorkis Gamboa and Miguel Gonzalez as possible opponents for Crawford.

Holy **** please let it be Gamboa that would be an amazing 50/50 fight that's what boxing needs good match ups.

Rigo's best place right now is to fight in the undercard of Cotto.

Things for a match up and being aired would go more smoothly since he has not fan base.

Orlando is a good spot for him for fans to flock to the fight

I agree. Unfortunately, it's not to be. The good news is, we'll know about Rigo's next fight in a few days. Fingers crossed it's something decent....
