Lets have it real, Deontay Wilder is a glorified bum.

I thought i saw a bit of a jab coming through in liakovich fight, a left hook hurt him as well. But he should definitely be using it more to get ready for the next level. It wont be long before he comes up against someone who reads the right and starts circling to his left...
send him a letter beforehand.
if that's all that went into getting out the way of a right hand somebody would have figured it out. it's a huge right hand that comes very fast, from high up, and from very far away. wilder's a very athletic guy. he's extremely fast. it's a lot easier to talk about avoiding it than it is to actually get out of the way.
somebody is going to pop a jab in his face and he won't know what to do. he looks like a deer in the headlights when he eats jabs. it looks like only wladimir is long enough to do it from a distance with consistency. if he fights haye he'd probably fight a slow fight and look for bombs, and catch a hayemaker before he lands his own, and go down. vitali is all but retired, and i can't see him taking a fight with wilder. if he did he'd find a way to take the pow away, and probably take the shots that are hurting these guys.
other than that the contenders at HW will have a hard time dealing with the power. i'm not saying that wilder knocks them all out, as he's a novice level boxer, but these slower, less athletic, less skilled, or smaller guys will have real issues getting out of the way of that right hand, and i don't see any chins other than vitali that i know will take the punch with confidence.Comment

i'm not hyping deontay wilder. i'm quite realistic about what he is. he's a huge, athletic puncher who can hardly box.Comment

For all his power he telegraphs the right hand loads. The skill level might not be high at heavyweight but there are guys such as Tony Thompson for example who are calm enough to see it and move appropriately. So far we haven't seen any try and negate the right because theyve been scared ****less or well out of their depth. Hell I'd even say a shot blown up Cunningham could do a good job of moving out the way.send him a letter beforehand.

cunningham would be too small. eventually he'd get bombed.
tony the tiger might be the fight, but i'd like to see wilder in one more fight before he fights fury, pulev, tony Tiger, chisora, etc. i want him to go at least eight rounds. dominick guinn would go rounds. wach, kevin johnson, ustinov. somebody big, durable, and at least not completely shot.Comment

Possibly but how many times have we seen big punchers power disappear in the face of movement? And if Cunningham gets out the first four rounds anything could happen with stamina. Not a foregone conclusion imo
Yeah agree with this... But like i say even if he could win the fight just bombing the right (either ko or keeping other guy in shell) he should really be looking to develop the left by throwing it consistently. He could have the best jab in the div by the time WK retires with his orangutan arms and natural speed, but it wont develop out of nowhere...tony the tiger might be the fight, but i'd like to see wilder in one more fight before he fights fury, pulev, tony Tiger, chisora, etc. i want him to go at least eight rounds. dominick guinn would go rounds. wach, kevin johnson, ustinov. somebody big, durable, and at least not completely shot.Comment

i can assure you that mark breland has been trying to teach him how to throw a jab, man. his opponents average less than two rounds.
shot steve cunningham, coming off of a kayo loss, will have nothing to trouble wilder, and you know damn well all your little british buddies will be giving him guff because he's fighting "fury's seconds."
you guys are just trying to find any reason to discredit this young American prince. i get it.
something to think about:
lebron james is 40 lbs heavier than wilder, about an inch taller, and 10X the athlete.Comment
