Still considered the saddest movie ever made, yet the realist aspect and biggest concern of the sport but the reason we respect the athletes of this great sport!

The only version I've seen is the one with Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper. Beery's boxing scenes are noticeably artificial and it was rather too much synthetic pathos. He overacted like a narcissist. In real life I believe that he was a very bad drunken and abusive character in every way.

The boxing film I like best is "The Set-Up", with Robert Ryan and Audrey Totter. Very real to life according to everything we hear and read about the boxing world. Ryan was a very good boxer in real life and was his college heavyweight champion in the whole 4-5 years he was there. This is apparently a university record.
