Critics aren’t bothering Gary Russell Jr just yet, but his promoter is saying that he will fight for a world title in 2013.

Schaeffer saying he's gonna get a title shot by the end of the year... only titlist he has is Mares and Jr wouldn't even face PDL

Yeah Top Rank got the lower divisions on lock.

-Salido/Cruz winner will likely fight Donaire for more $$$$

        -Mexican Russian is Top Rank

-Chris John is in his own world

I don't see him fighting for a title this year at least. He just needs to fight somebody with a pulse.

They can ask John, but I doubt he leaves Indoasia... and I think the FW winner in Salido/Cruz is going to fight Lomachenko

I hear his hands are as fragile as khan's chin. That's major probletm stepping up when your fighting tougher guys with better chins that will punch back.

He will...What Is The Rush? Just turned 25 a few months ago

He wants one more fight to test his hand then he will step up competition, I am willing to just wait and see if he stays with that Promise or will he go back to fighting another bum

I thought he was ready to step up competition maybe 3 fights ago but his Father thought differently. I personally don't see the rush, then if he tries to move too fast and people start hyping him too soon you all will say "HE IS OVERRATED AND OVERHYPED"...he wants to earn his way to the top slowly, I don't have a problem with that, too many fighters take the SHORTCUT to the top and then get protected so they can stay their

Whats up with this excuse? If his hand is fine to fight a bum why would it not be fine to fight a top 10 opponent. And what if he hurts his hands again by you know PUNCHING another TBA in the head? Is he going to fight another bum to test his hand?

Is his hand actually still injured and is still fighting TBA? If it's healthy then I don't see whats the point of TESTING it and risk injuring it again against a worthless opponent.

Early on his career he threw with much more power, now he just shoe shines over and over.

I've had a feeling for awhile now he's had hand problems. Looks like he's scared to really land flush shots. He can be getting paid much for these fights, so I'm really not sure what the plan is here.

His pops reminds me of roy jones father.

Also if he has hand problems he should use the same dude Floyd uses to wrap his hands and fight In vegas so he can numb his hands it's not like it's a ped I don't see anything unfair about it if he did that.
