Matthysse has a smart team, that's all. We all know how hard it is to get unification fights. If he had gotten a belt, he'd have had his own set of mandatories and would have never gotten a shot at Danny. Not fighting for the belt was smart, now he remains Dannys mandatory and he can land the fight he wanted to land all along.

All that insinuating is nonsense, Matthysse wanted Dannys belt, not anyone elses.

Just the usual dirty talking from a dirty old man. His insinuations are BS. There could be no unification because Matthysse's interim title isnt recognized and he would have lost his status as mandatory for Garcia. Matthysse knew that if he had agreed to fight at 140 instead of 141, sure, he would have become the new IBF champion, but Garcia would have used to duck him since he would no longe be his mandatory.
Simple as that, Matthysse wants the WBC belt, not the IBF.
