I was thinking the exact same thing. That's a really ballsy move. Say what you want about not taking the Pac fight, but Chavez just damaged a man so much he died. That takes a lot of guts to get into the ring with him, especially being his next opponent.

Or maybe he figures Chavez will be distraught, and thus unable to fight at his highest level, due to what happened in his most recent fight?

This is a fight to look forward too, but i was looking forward to a fight with Manny. I dont even care if its 4 months from now, its a fight that has been way overdue.

It's a gamble either way. Mancini killed Kim, but that did not kill his killer instincts. Dangerous fight for anyone, let alone a smaller boxer like MAB.

This is not a Wise decision in my opinion.

Barrera has trouble gaining weight and he would probally have to pack on muscle and it would probally hinder him and he would cramp up.

I recall he only weighed in like 132 pounds after the weigh in for morales at 130.

135 would be risky he will be the smaller man.

He would make more money in a rematch with pacman.

Damn, this fight has me nervous. I believe Barrera can win, but he will need to fight a great fight. Chavez is no joke, he gave Morales a good fight(Hurt Morales bad with a single shot) until he hurt his shoulder. I also believe that Chavez has looked stronger and more focused since his loss with Morales. Chavez also battled Hernandez in a test of chins and endurance.
Barrera is going to fight at 135? damn guy has problems getting enough weight for 130.

If Barrera can beat Chavez in convincing fashion, then I would give him better odds to win in a rematch with Pac.

For the record, I would not bet against Pac.

Barrera is suppose to chase Pacquiao, not the other way around.

Incredibly hard test for Barrera. If he comes out on top, he definetly should fight Pac next.
